Midwifery students in Olympics Opening Ceremony
Two of our midwifery undergraduate students have been selected from a large number of applicants to perform in the opening ceremony at the 2012 Olympics "Isles of Wonder" created and directed by Danny Boyle.

Zumba classes for pregnant women
Zumba, the popular dance workout, recently got a new twist with a version for pregnant women, Zumba Bump. Zumba Bump is an adaptation of the Zumba Gold workout and was devised by Oxford Brookes researchers and lecturers, Dr Lesley Smith and Ethel Burns, and instructor George Martini.

Faculty of Health and Life Sciences Postgraduate Research Symposium
The Postgraduate Research Symposium took place on Friday 20 January. The event was a successful and enjoyable experience for all which contributed to both the Faculty in general and to the confidence and communication skills of our research students in particular. Staff across the Faculty were involved in organisation and in chairing sessions.
